Hello Henrietta ISD Families! I want to update you on a few items from around our district.

First, I hope you are checking out the videos we are posting on our YouTube channel. If you haven’t, take a second to subscribe and watch the videos we’ve uploaded over the last few weeks. It is a fun way for us to highlight the great things happening in HISD. I do not think I am in any danger of taking over for Jenna or Hoda on the Today Show, but I am having a ball “interviewing” our students! We have some great kids in Henrietta ISD!

You may have noticed the legislature began a third special session earlier this week, and one of the items the governor included is educational savings accounts, better known as vouchers. I am proud to tell you that our Board on Monday night took action to unanimously pass a resolution expressing our opposition to any public funds going toward private schools. You can read the full resolution on the HISD website linked HERE under legislator and state updates.  I am honored to work alongside a Board that fiercely advocates for our students and for YOU!

Finally, I want to take a moment to follow up with you on the funeral arrangements for HHS student Sydnee Trammell, who as you know tragically passed away from injuries sustained in an accident over the weekend.

Visitation:  Thursday, October 12th at 6-8pm in Vernon at Sullivan Funeral Home

Service: Friday, October 13th at 2:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church (2101 Yucca Lane, Vernon, TX)

We will soon be sharing this information with HHS families, as I told them we would keep them updated as we had more information to provide. I know you will join me in keeping Sydnee’s family close to your heart during this very difficult time.

Without question, it is in moments such as this that Henrietta comes together to support each other, and I am so grateful to be a part of this close-knit community.

With appreciation for each of you!

Jaime Clark
