Henrietta Junior High's own Ms. April at the Dallas Cowboys Game!

"Ms. April was one out of the twenty Army National Guard members selected for flag detail for the Dallas Cowboys August 22nd, 2025. She is a signal support specialist, and has been in the Army for 6 years! She helped carry out the American flag during the national anthem. She was also recognized by the Dallas Cowboys during the game! It was a once in a lifetime experience!

Henrietta Junior High One Act Play Presents Once Upon a Crime - The Trial of Goldilocks!
This exciting retelling of the familiar fairy tale is full of mirth and melody as Goldilocks is brought to court to face the charges of breaking and entering the Bears' cottage. After the hard-of-hearing judge calls the court to order, the clerk presents the traditional story. Then the lawyers take over to present their sides of the case. In rollicking enactment's—with the jury playing tables, chairs, beds and forest animals—the stories unfold. Guilty or innocent? Was the young girl a selfish, spoiled brat, intruding where she didn't belong? Or was she the victim of three conniving bears (and their animal "band of hoods" in the woods)? The surprising verdict from the jury—along with the judge's unique sentencing—bring this charming musical to a highly satisfying "happily-ever-after" conclusion.

The first weeks of school are off to a great start here at Henrietta Junior High! The HJH PTO provided a back-to-school snack table for staff. Learning is taking place even in the first week. Mrs. Browning's science classes were learning about liquids, solids, and gases. Coach Dickens' science classes were learning about physical and chemical changes. Coach Harmonson and Mr. Fulton's classes were diving into history. Mrs. Haley's classes were learning about digital citizenship, which is critical in today's social media world! And Mr. Carpenter's class was learning about the calculators they will be using in class. And volleyball has kicked off with practices in preparation for the first game this week on Thursday.

Henrietta ISD Board Attends Statewide Leadership Training to Strengthen Governance and Support for Students
Members of the Henrietta ISD Board of Trustees recently joined other school leaders from across the state at the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Summer Leadership Institute, held in San Antonio and Fort Worth. The conference offered in-depth learning sessions on everything from school finance and policy updates to leadership and community engagement.
Board members attended sessions tailored to both new and experienced trustees, diving into real-world challenges and learning from fellow board members across Texas. Superintendent Jaime Clark, who attended alongside the board, said the group’s dedication to continued learning is one of the things that makes Henrietta ISD special.
“Our board members don’t just show up to meetings. They show up to learn,” Clark said. “They ask smart questions, stay curious, and genuinely want to make the best decisions for our students and staff. Their involvement in this kind of training says a lot about how seriously they take their role.”
Board President Brad Yurcho said the experience reaffirmed the importance of ongoing education for school board members.
“We don’t take this responsibility lightly,” Yurcho said. “Attending the Summer Leadership Institute helps us stay informed and focused on what matters most. We want to make the right decisions for the future of our schools.”
Henrietta ISD has made board development a priority in recent years, recognizing that effective governance plays a key role in student success. The board plans to continue attending the institute each summer as part of its commitment to strong, student-centered leadership.
