HJH Picture Retake Day is coming soon!
Oct 19 is the day - please note this is a MONDAY!
These pictures are for the yearbook so each student needs their picture taken even if you are not planning to order. If a student was absent on the original picture day or is new since Sept 11, they will be photographed.
If you want retakes, please send the original packet or proof page that was purchased with your student. You will receive a proof page for reorders.
Students should be in dress code for pictures.

October is Bullying Prevention Month and we all play a part in teaching children how to show kindness, empathy, and respect for others. Throughout this month, we will be sharing tips and information on resolving conflict, how to stand up for others, and standing up for yourself. As always, if you or your child need to report bullying, you have two ways to do so: 1. In Person (tell the teacher, counselor, or administrator), 2. Anonymously through the "Report Bullying" link on your child's campus webpage.

The 30-day carryover period for Free & Reduced-Price Meal benefits from last school year has now expired.
If your family received Free & Reduced-Price Meal benefits last year and you would like to see if you qualify again for the current school year, you will need to submit a new application.
Already received an approval letter from Mrs. Brown for this school year? There is no need to reapply. Your current-year eligibility has already been approved.

We are sorry for the late notice but we didn't realize there was a permission slip needed for the group coming for the Mobile STEM Lab. We were awarded a grant to pay for them to come and provide this awesome hands-on learning experience for our students to use their math and science skills for engineering! First, our 8th grade students will be traveling to the MPEC next Wednesday, Sept 23, for a Career Fair. They will depart at 7:45 and will return around 1:00. This is a great opportunity for them to see job possibilities once they graduate! They get to talk to the professionals! Check out the graphic for more info!

As part of new state requirements, school districts are now required to certify each year that we are following certain laws and policies. Our Board of Trustees will approve this certification at the September board meeting, and it will then be submitted to TEA by September 30.
